Infrared
images
I
was introduced to infra red photography some years ago. The images were of
Castle Howard in North Yorkshire and the bombing range approach markers at R.A.F
Donna Nook Lincolnshire. I love the ghostly image that this type of photography
produces, I don’t know if that is the right way to describe it but that is the
way I like to explain it.
The following set of images were taken in August and October 2011 using a tripod mounted Nikon FM2n with cable release. I was using Rollei Infrared film rated at 400 ISO in conjunction with a Nikon 20mm AFD lens fitted with a Hoya R72 filter; this allows just infrared rays above 720nm to pass through. This is an area that I will be experimenting with in the future.
